Learn the basic principles of writing and selling long form fiction (or narrative non-fiction) including the fundamentals of genre, character, plot, structure and dialogue. We’ll discuss brainstorming, drafting, revising, and polishing. Get an overview of the publishing industry and the options available to new authors in today’s changing climate.
Plus, get answers to the questions all writers get at cocktail parties, such as: “Where do you get your ideas?” “How long does it take you to write a book?” and “Is anyone in your book based on someone you know? It’s me, isn’t it?” (Answer: Yep. It’s you!)
Learn in a fun, low stress environment with personal attention and delicious coffee. Each participant should bring pen and paper or device for taking notes, along with at least 2 pages of a story you’d like to write (text or synopsis). Arrive between 8:30 and 8:45 to purchase coffee and breakfast items from Scooter’s.
